Sun writing

"When the sun mercilessly stabs from the sky, he sets up his camera on a tripod on the balcony. That way he needn’t leave the house. [...] He points the lens at the sun and chooses the setting for soft focus. Then he opens the shutter for minutes at a time. The rays collect without reflection, expanding to a width of a few millimeters – into a solar ball on celluloid. Suddenly the film burns in the camera and smoke rises. A film sun is born".

"Quando il sole colpisce dal cielo senza alcuna pietà, lui prepara la sua macchina fotografica sul cavalletto, in balcone. [...] Punta l'obiettivo verso il sole e lo imposta su una leggera sfocatura. Poi apre l'otturatore, ogni volta per dei minuti. I raggi si raccolgono senza alcuna riflessione, espandendosi fino a una larghezza di qualche millimetro, una sfera solare sulla celluloide. All'improvviso la pellicola brucia dentro l'apparecchio e del fumo sale: un sole di pellicola è nato".
