Peter Schlör, Herde, 1987-2003

Rimango un grande amante della fotografia in bianco e nero, per questo sono sempre alla ricerca di lavori che ne esplorino nuove possibilità e ne esprimano una dimensione attuale, piuttosto che utilizzarla per riproporre stili e temi che ripetono semplicemente quello che è stato già fatto. Quindi sono rimasto subito molto colpito dal lavoro di Peter Schlör, un'affascinante combinazione tra un approccio concettuale e una ricerca realmente percettiva, una lunga sequenza di studi sulle forme di spazi naturali e artificiali dove le sottili sfumature di grigio che portano dal nero profondo al bianco puro danno profondità e vita alle sue composizioni spesso estremamente rigorose.

Alcune immagini di Schlör saranno in mostra a Roma dal 28 settembre nella mostra Cities - Places Visionaries, insieme a lavori di Gabriele Basilico, Marco Zanta, Michael Wolf, Shaun Gladwell, Dmitry Gutov e Damir Ocko.

I'm still quite fond of B/W photography and always looking for works that somehow keep it alive and explore new possibilities for it, rather than using it to propose something that simply repeats what was already done. This is why I was immediately fascinated by Peter Schlör's photography, a beautiful combination of a conceptual and an extremely perceptive approach, a long sequence of studies of the shapes of natural and artificial spaces where the subtle changes of shades of gray from pitch black to pure white give depth and life to its often strict compositions.

Some of his images will be on show in Rome from September 28 in the exhibition Cities - Places Visionaries, together with works by Gabriele Basilico, Marco Zanta, Michael Wolf, Shaun Gladwell, Dmitry Gutov and Damir Ocko.
