Periurban world

Michael de Kooter mi ha scritto per segnalarmi il suo libro Périphérique, un'indagine fotografica della periferia di Losanna, in Svizzera. Le sue immagini mostrano una sorta di terra di mezzo dove natura ed espansione urbana si guardano come due sconosciuti capitati uno di fronte all'altro, uno spazio sospeso senza alcuna identità precisa, una coesistenza forzata e affrettata di terra e cemento, metallo e vegetazione, plastica e acqua.

Michael de Kooter wrote me regarding his new self-published book, Périphérique, a photographic investigation of the outskirts of Lausanne, Switzerland. His images show some kind of in-between land, where nature and urban expansion stare at each other like two strangers just getting acquainted, a suspended space with no specific identity, a forced and rushed cohabitation of soil and concrete, steel and vegetation, water and plastic.
