"Chiedo sempre ai miei soggetti di guardarmi quando l’otturatore scatta. Questo per eliminare una dimensione di specchio tra il loro sguardo e l’obiettivo fotografico, ma anche per porre l’accento sul momento in cui ci si guarda l’un l’altro e sull’apparecchio fotografico come un testimone di tale momento. Il risultato è un autoritratto, un ritratto di Me e di Te".

This is done not only to eliminate a mirror-like relationship between their gaze and the camera’s lens but also to request a commitment to the moment of seeing one another and to the camera as our witness. The result is a self-portrait, a portrait of I and thou”.
