Probabilmente la cosa che più mi colpisce del fotografo francese Adrien Missika è la struttura di molti suoi lavori, serie spesso composte da poche immagini, che ci mostrano strani mondi, spesso versioni stranianti del nostro, paesaggi artificiali di cui ci sembra di scorgere la materia che li compone, strutture e luoghi di cui non è dato capire la funzione.
Prevale su tutto la forte sensazione della singola immagine come opera e del corpus che le varie immagini compongono insieme – qualità mai abbastanza presente in fotografia.

What perhaps catches my attention the most in the work of French photographer Adrien Missika is the structure behind many of his series, often made of few images. And these images show us strange worlds, weird versions of our own, artificial landscapes made of a fabric we can somehow feel, places and structures with an obscure function we cannot comprehend.
The single image is conceived as a work in itself, and then as part of a body of work – and this is something always welcome in photography.
