Splendide vedute aree e minuziose e a volte misteriose catalogazioni sono le due linee principali del lavoro della fotografa americana Terry Evans, che sino ad oggi ha dedicato la maggior parte della sua opera alla rappresentazione della prateria nordamericana. Recentemente ha cominciato a dedicarsi a vedute di acciaierie e alla creazione di un catalogo di manufatti industriali, pieni di un mistero che ricorda il catalogo dell’incomprensibile di Larry Sultan e Mike Mandel, Evidence.
Un vero tesoro di immagini davvero affascinanti, dove le vedute sconfinate mettono a confronto l’intervento umano sul territorio in due aspetti apparentemente lontani: il paesaggio modellato delle praterie e le forme metalliche delle industrie che si appropriano della terra su cui sorgono.
Revealing Chicago è il lavoro che Terry Evans ha realizzato sul territorio della città, fotografando la ‘prateria urbana’ e le sue trasformazioni.

Astonishing aerials and meticulous and sometime mysterious archives are two of the main themes of the work of American photographer Terry Evans, mainly devoted to the North American prairie.
She recently starter working on aerials on steel mills and to an archive of the industrial artifacts, often so cryptic they mind of the catalogue of the incomprehensible by Larry Sultan and Mike Mandel, Evidence.
Her work is really a treasure of beautiful images, where vast views analyze the human intervention on the territory under two seemingly quite distant aspects: the shaped landscape of the prairie and the steel structures of industrial plants taking possession of the land.
Revealing Chicago is Evans’ work on the territory of Chicago, photographing the ‘urban prairie’ and its transformations.
