Ritratto sociale

I ritratti di Judith Joy Ross seguono il solco del lavoro di August Sander, mostrando i volti della società americana attraverso i volti delle persone.
Fate attenzione alle date di molte delle sue immagini, scoprirete che può benissimo essere considerata tra quei fotografi che hanno anticipato alcune delle tendenze della ritrattistica fotografica attuale, proseguendo al tempo stesso la tradizione della fotografia documentaria dell’inizio del XX secolo. Judith Joy Ross’ portrait photography follows the steps of the vision of August Sander, showing the many faces of American society through the faces of people.
Pay attention to the dates of many of her pictures, you’ll find out she can be easily considered as one of those photographers who anticipated some of the actual tendencies in portrait photography and at the same time carried on the tradition of early XX century documentary photography.
