Argento vivo

Fotografo, stampatore, insegnante, Andrea Calabresi è uno di quei rari esempi ormai di artista fotografico ‘totale’, dove il lavoro e la ricerca cominciano col comporre l’immagine e si concludono con l’interpretazione in camera oscura, il tutto fuso in un unico grande processo creativo, dove scatto, uso della pellicola e stampa non possono che esistere l’uno per l’altro.
Il suo lavoro Close Landscapes è un esempio molto bello di questa ricerca di una visione, un mondo di toni e sfumature, giardini d’infanzia visivi.

Photographer, b/w printer, teacher, Andrea Calabresi is one of those rare examples nowadays of ‘total photographic artist’. His work and studies start with composing the images and end with the image interpretation in the darkroom: all is merged in one whole creative process, where taking the picture, choosing and processing the film and printing cannot exist but one for the other.
His work Close Landscapes is a beautiful example of his quest for a vision, a world of tonalities and nuances, kindergartens for the eye.
