Restiamo in tema ‘tempo che fu’, insistendo sulla nostalgia di presunte età d’oro, per accennare a Shorpy, un sito dedicato ‘alle fotografie antiche e a com’era la vita cent’anni fa’. È una collezione fantastica di materiale fotografico, di valore storico, tecnico, sociologico e tanto altro.
Un solo esempio: andate alla sezione 4x5 Kodachromes e guardate la lussuria visiva che sono quelle immagini, così ricche di colori da far pensare ad una cremosa torta di compleanno.
D’altronde, chiunque abbia mai visto una lastra diapositiva sa che oggetto seducente possa essere, anche solo a maneggiarla e guardarla controluce…

‘Old times’ again, and more longing for past golden ages, to mention Shorpy, a website devoted to ‘old photos and what life a hundred years ago was like’. It is a fantastic collection of photographs, with great historical, technical and sociological value, and much more.
Just one example: go to the 4x5 Kodachromes section and enjoy the visual luxury of those images, so colorful they remind of a creamy birthday cake.
However, anyone who ever saw a large format transparency knows how seducing it can be, even by just handling it and looking at it against the light…
